On Thursday after the weekly 10h00 service, I spent most of my session with the 20 young people at Volmoed attempting to brief the new young people who joined us about the themes, principles and history of VYLTP. The gathering is for young people between the ages of 18 to 35 years (other older age groups are most welcomed) from different denominations, to gather, on Saturday, 22 November 2025. Let us gather to be in solidarity, which is an effort to bring the body of Christ together, uniting us through song, praise, silence, workshop/s and listening to the Word and each other, as we strive to rekindle the ecumenical spirit in with our beloved South Africa and beyond. We would love to make this an inclusive and intergenerational event. The gathering will take place at Volmoed Retreat Centre in Hemel-en-Aarde.

Our thoughts and prayers today are with Anna Carmichael (a supporter of VYLTP) who has made herself available to become the Episcopal Bishop for a diocese in California. Strength to you, Anna!

The Volmoed Youth Drummers visited the United States from 8 to 25 November 2024 to promote unity and healing. During their trip through the USA Midwest, they participated in various events, including school programmes and church services, sharing their message of togetherness and understanding within communities. Their presence aimed to inspire hope and connection among the audiences they engaged with.

Warm greetings! Hope you are well. I’m writing to tell you about a small donations campaign that Volmoed Youth Leadership Program is running this week, until Friday October18, at midnight. It is called Little by Little, and all donations between $10– $50, or 8–40 GB pounds, will be matched at 50% by the Global Giving foundation we partner with. So, $10 will become $15 or 8 GB pounds will become 12 GB pounds!
Many small donations will add up!
