The 10/10/10 campaign is picking up speed

  1. How do I say thank you enough for great support and for believing in the work and vision of VYLTP? A wonderful young dominee, Bonganjalo Mbenenge from Jo’burg, pledged and paid R1000 towards the 10/10/10 campaign! Thank you so much my godson! Thank you also to several others who have given over the past month and more, especially the Gambale family and others.
  2. Our young people have also begun to recruit supporters in Zwelihle and Mt Pleasant, people who are willing to give R10 per month from the little that they have. We look forward to the current trickle becoming a stream and then becoming a flood. I have posted the 50 10/10/10 campaign forms to Thobeka Dodo in Durban.

Other highlights …

  1. An Anglican priest from Jhb (Rev Rakgadi Khobo) received her drum this week. Thanks for your support, Moruti!
  2. I am beginning to reach out to other denominations to brief their youth structures about our work and the 10th anniversary. This week I reached out to Andriette de Ridder of the Dutch Reformed church. Will keep you updated.
  3. The programme for the Muslim-Christian dialogue at the end of August (happening at Volmoed) also came out this week. Some Catholic young people from Cape Town will also take part in this.
  4. There was a great launch of the South African Council of Churches (SACC) Western Cape youth programme at Tutu house over the weekend. David Daniels, one of our leadership team members, is part of this. We have supported them in the past and look forward to working with and supporting them.
  5. The drumming with the children from Mt Pleasant went very well! It was good to see them so joyful.
